Drew & Kelly's Walls of Windows

Square Feet:

What I Love About My Home

We love that our house has almost no walls and tons of floor to ceiling windows. So much of living in a space like this is about the view- the city, the water the mountains- that we wanted to compliment the views and at the same time create a calm, inviting and stylish space.

Biggest Challenge in Furnishing My Home

We moved from a massive, rambling heritage apartment built in 1911 so we had to edit out a lot of our furniture and stuff. We've kept our favorites and kept it pretty sparse. Every time we start to layer in too many things it quickly becomes crowded and busy. We've learned that most of the accessories are outside the condo! We've also toyed with adding color to the walls but we keep landing back at white. It makes the space feel curated and open.

Favoriting and voting have ended.

This apartment has great bones in my opinion. I like the colours in the bedroom very much. I don't know if the black fridge was chosen intentionally: it looks very nice next to the white cabinets. I'm intrigued about the bathroom.

AWESOME! Wish I loved there. I love Vancouver, for me this is the perfect home. I love the colors you have chosen. The simplicity
of it all. Would love to see the bathroom. I have voted on one or two of other homes. This is my FAVORITE. It is beautiful.

I'm not really someone who normally cares about a good view...but wow! Amazing.

I am so in love with your kitchen, and I really like the grown-up yet not stuffy feeling of your living room. Plus, I've never seen a bed made with the pillows put that way and I love it!

That is possible one of the best ever views anyone could have. Beautiful.

It must be horrible leaving that place to go to work!!! I know I'd want to just stay there and never leave the house :P

I agree with your choice to let the view take center stage. Your restrained, architecturally-inclined style works perfectly.

I feel a little weird about people who don't respond to comments. We are all busy, I know. Still feels wonky to me, sorry.

Anyway, view, view, view. Wow!

queenyellowsun - vancouver really isnt that cold. the average low in january is about 1 degree (33f) and the high is about 6 (43f). vancouver rarely gets snow and when it does, it doesnt last more than a day or so.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments everyone! So much love...

We absolutely love the condo and of course the views from the 27th floor! It was so sunny and beautiful here today we enjoyed a glass of wine on the balcony for the first time this year!!! It's located close to Gastown and Chinatown in downtown Vancouver.

A few people have asked to see pics of the bathroom and I also haven't shown any of our home office so I'll set up a gallery tomorrow to show a little more.

(sorry for the delay PattyD, been away for a few days on a work contract but nothing 'wonky' here.)

A few of you have been asking about the bathroom and the office... and of course there have been no end to the comments about the view!

I've created an additional Dropbox gallery with a few of my favorite shots from the balcony as well as the bathroom, the office and one showing off the couch;)

Thanks for looking and I wish we could have all of you over for a big party!!!

Love the clean and refreshing style! What color did you paint the walls in the bedroom? Thinking of that color for my baby's room.

Thanks for the kind words CRYSTAL24K! The color in the bedroom is Benjamin Moore's 'Distant Gray' 2124-70. Although you can't tell from the gray day I took the photos, the color looks beautiful in sunlight!
