640What I Love About My Home
I love my wood floors. I love the amount of light that enters into my home during the day. I also love the open window from the living room into the bedroom--- it makes the space feel much much larger than it actually is.
Biggest Challenge in Furnishing My Home
Well, my biggest challenge was mostly the fact that I was 8 1/2 months pregnant when I moved into my home. Other than that, I had trouble finding a dining table for the limited space available.

When I saw your sofa..well I said something that probably wouldn't be appropriate to write in the comment section. But as I love quirky things..I love your couch! Very 70s. The nursery is gorgeous!

@shadowlotus: I just found it like that! 50$ at goodwill. Best find ever.
@pamela l: it's a diy! my dad found it on the side of the road somewhere. it was hideous. Brown with a silver top.

This looks like a happy place to live! All the colors and patterns harmonize instead of compete with one another.

I don't remember the furnishings from my childhood looking like this much fun! I love it-- especially the shot of the crib. By the by, do you happen to know a source for the curtains in that picture (or where you found fabric for them)?

I love the colors and style here. And I just saw a macrame owl at a nearby thrift store but didn't know if it would look ok on my wall - you've given me the confidence to go back and get it!
And I second the comments on making a small space work with kids. You've done a wonderful job.
Now where is that rug from in the baby's room? I love it.

A macramé owl...how funny. I love the use of color. Don't care for the couch. The baby room is so high style.

I am looking at this a second time and I am so floored by your eye for color and design.
I am trying to figure out if those two ottomans in the location where they are really serve a purpose. Would anyone really sit there or do you just have them there to move over to a different location in case you have more people in the house than the couch can hold. I am sure you have it figured out as you look like you are an expert.

lovely house,
what a nice tree in the nursery, did you make it yourself?

Deju vue...the macrame owl looks like a pattern I used to teach my Brownies how to macrame - 25 years ago. :) Mine is long gone. Nice to see it is back in style.
Love your use of color and pattern. I'm not sure I could be so adventurous with patterns and pull it off as well as you. I think that must be your gift to know how to do that. Thx

@csc76: ah, I hate those curtains. No, I lie: I love them. I hated making them. I bought the fabric at (the dreaded) Ikea.
@misscorinne: Thank you! Clearance bin urban outfitters.
@House Voyeur: I am absolutely not an expert! Just someone who loves color and furniture. The ottomans are used more than frequently by visitors. Sometimes they are moved towards the center for games or conversations, but they are used most often right were they are at. The space is small.
@grietje: The tree was in the clearance bin of anthropologie. The box was open and everything... you design the tree as you'd like it... luckily no pieces appeared to be missing.
