688What I Love About My Home
The thing I like most about our home is the "large" living area. It gives the sense of space and functions as a multi-room for entertaining, working and relaxing. We also love the wooden panels, which give the small space an elegant feel, normally only found in much bigger apartments.
Biggest Challenge in Furnishing My Home
Finding solutions for storage while maintaining a sense of space and lightness was the biggest challenge.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!I am so inspired by your use of of art and your check floor in your kitchen with the warm tones of the counter top. Very nice use of space and colour.

I'm in love with the architectural detailing of the space, the credenza, and all of the art on the walls. This looks like a bright, happy space to reside in.

This is what I call a "well edited" home, which is of course key to living in a small space. Everything has been chosen with a careful, deliberate hand, without looking forced. Good balance of negative space (another key to tiny living) and posessions. Me likey.

It looks much bigger than 688 sq.ft.
Is the bathroom too small?
I like the freshness of the kitchen.

The couch color (+ the bedding) warms up the place, I mean, DK style is usually this "everything white", but this place breaks up the rule and meets cozyness and warmth. Congrats and good luck!

Such a beautiful calming space. Who makes those bookshelves? Or does anyone know where I can get something similar?

Boy howdy do the Scandinavians kick our butts when it comes to beautiful homes!!
So much wonderful artwork and furniture - even with all the things I like, the yellow lamp stands out!

This space is to die for. I will fall asleep thinking about this apt. Photo of kitchen was taken from??? Maybe, just maybe a rug in the living room.

I love this apartment. It's just perfect. Can you tell us anything about the floors? Are they unfinished? They make me swoon...

do scandinavians have good design in their genes? do they breed for the sole purpose of having good taste?!

A place for art and books. I run more to clutter and softness but who can go wrong with so much wonderful art on the walls and shelves full of books. And full of light. A very wonderful space.

I'mnot a great fan of open clothing storage anywhere, but other than that, I really like the space. The art is impressive.

I love: the floors (I don't see a need for a rug!), every piece of furniture (esp. the yellow lamp!) and the awesome way your art is hung : ) Very inspiring!

Okay, this is one of my favorites, but this is going to sound very critical only because I'm looking closely. Not loving the exposed clothes hung in the bedroom or the wall packed with random student art and a long bookcase. The living room also screams for a rug to soften up the farmhouse floor. But the credenza beneath the TV, the mid century furnishings are all very nice.

@All. Thank you for all the kind words. We really like our apartment and the room layout. Our kitchen and bathroom is quite small, but I like the fact that the most square feet are used in the living room, since it is where we spend the most of our time. Our biggest challenge right now is that we're out of wall space :-)
@ComfortSeeker and others. We had a rug in the sofa area, but I poured coffee all over it by accident, so I threw i out. I actually like i more without the rug, because it makes the room feel bigger and I like the look of the floorboards.'
@Sady. The bookshelves are made of five 28x28x12 inch pine-wood modules screwn together with sheet rock screws. We painted the modules white and put it on short legs, since we couldn't mount them on the wall because of the wall panels. It is our cheap DIY version of the Danish "Montana shelving" which costs a fortune.
It was quite a task aligning the bookcases since the floor i very uneven. From the wall and 12 inches out it varies an inch :-)
@ec05. I just held the camera up over my head standing against the fridge. The secret is the ultra wide angle 10-22mm lens :-)
@templemorris and others. The floors are unfinished pine-wood. They are the original floors from 1896 when the house was built.

Lovely! The only thing that i do not like is the leather couch, but this is just me - i do not feel them cozy, and i do not like the feel of touch to the leather, but.. as i said, it is just me! You deserve to be the one that goes to the next stage of this contest. Wish you luck!

This is a welcoming open space, individualized with beautiful art. I just wish there were more variety in furniture. I like mcm furniture a lot, but I think it's more interesting when it's infused with different styles.

Would you be able to guide me to where you got the credenza from? I've been looking for months for something like it. Any help would be appreciated.
