What I Love About My Home

I love how my home is comfortable and cozy. It contains everything I need. There is a lot of color that I find to be stimulating. It's ecclectic like my interests. It says a lot about me.

Biggest Challenge in Furnishing My Home

My biggest challenge I faced in decorating my space was furniture placement. It's easy to have an arrested apartment (everybody up against the wall) when you have a small space. I really didn't want to do that. When I found that round bed that was no higher than an ottoman I knew how I was going to do it.

Charming! The round bed is an unusual approach-- I really like it, and the vibrant colors.

Great, playful colors! Personally, I could never sleep in the middle of the room, but it's very clever. Kitchen's a little dull but the wall hanging & ceiling flags more than make up for it.

The round bed rocks, it gives the space a "summer of love" feel.

I don't necessarily love all of the decor, but you get my vote for the really creative use of that round bed/ottoman. On a side note, the Mona Lisa thing reminds me of the one from Dharma and Greg.

Wow! This is one of those "doesn't seem like it would work", but it totally does! I'm blown away, honestly. This is a wonderful, personal space.

LOVE the quilt hanging on the wall, also.

Too busy and too much color for me - but that's me not you - I think you did a fantastic job creating your space and letting your personality shine through.

I'm way too old to be sleeping on a round bed, all the time, but I love this idea for a writing studio or if I had an apartment in another city that I visited part of the year.

Very cool..

Wonderfully original. Love the round bed, the Mona Lisa, the colors! (Especially celebrating rather than downplaying the pink tile, then daring to bring in a turquoise accent.) Bravo. (And lucky kitten!)

The bathroom and kitchen are adorable, but that livingroom reminds me of when I first moved out on my own and everyone insisted on giving me all their rejects.

Seriously LOVE this--I'm a major book lover and collector, and I love how you handle your books and things. I think the bed is brilliant--hidden right in plain site--and it must be fun to entertain in your space. You have great taste!

I have a very different style, BUT it is such a happy looking and comfortable space. I can't understand how anyone could look at this and, even if they wouldn't live there, not smile. I think it's very lovely and very real. Totally the kind of place to spend the evening with a pinner and a great book.

I like the use of liquorice allsort stripes and colours to offset the pink tile in the bathroom - it works very well. That enormous quilt is a wonderful centrepiece.

I love the kitchen wall but i think the color is overdone and not very thoughtful or planned. you can have a colorful space not be overwhelming but the bath mats and striped curtains take it over the top. There's no unity.

I feel I have to answer some questions. First of all the round bed in the middle of the room came with a pillow top. Instead of using a fitted sheet I put a duvet cover over the pillow top tuck in the corners and use square sheets. Round sheets are custom made and too expensive. If I could afford them I'd live in a bigger space.
The tiger is fake my mom made it for me before I can remember. She also made the quilt.
I love Dharma & Greg hence the Mona Lisa beaded curtain. If I could have put up more pictures you could see that my office is behind there. You can see the Starck Louis the 14th Ghost chair sitting in front of it. It's invisible so it doesn't take up space and I can use it to check emails etc.
Finally the reason why Ann Ly is at the bottom of some of the pictures, is because she is the photographer. She actually took all the pictures. I don't know why her name isn't at the bottom of all of them. Thanks to her my submission isn't a bunch of close up shots of my thumb.

wow, and i know this has been said many times over but i have to say it again, the bed in the center is a really amazing idea. It allows for extra seating without your guests feeling uncomfortable about getting cozy on your bed. This is seriously making me double think my boring bed placement..
