590What I Love About My Home
I love that we made it work on our own terms and with our own hands. When we were expecting our son, everyone said, 'How will you have a child in such a small place?' We didn't know the answer to that question, but we loved our little apartment, so we were flexible, got creative, and put in a lot of work to stay there. It was really a rewarding transformation. Oh, yeah, and we absolutely love the private garden off of our main room - a rarity in a big city like Copenhagen!
Biggest Challenge in Furnishing My Home
We're both 'collectors of cool', so the problem becomes weeding out the things that are 'cool, but not cool enough'. To solve that problem, and to keep things fresh, we often rotate furniture, prints, and other gems between daily use in the apartment and our storage space in the basement. On a more specific note, making one small-ish bedroom into two 'separate' rooms (by way of loft), was a bit of trick!

Would love to see the inside of the 2 bedrooms -- I need to do something like this as we now have 2 children and are all sleeping in one bedroom!

This is clearly a beautiful, elegant apartment with an ingenious use of limited space. Unfortunately, the pictures are so small it's really hard to see!

I'm always jealous of white wood floors. I don't know how people get the courage to paint the wood, but it looks amazing.

Thanks everyone for the very nice words. Really sorry about the small pictures. I thought I had formatted them to the specified size - guess not!
To answer some quick post questions...
- paint is just an off-white (called råhvid in Danish which means raw white)
- shower/toilet is in the small room between the kitchen and the entre (it is a typical bathroom for a small Scandinavian apartment - basically just a fully tiled closet with plumbing and a drain in the middle the floor!)
- white floors can be a pain - especially with a three year old, but when we get around to cleaning them it makes the house look so bright and spacious.
Thanks again...
Will

Someone should stop Scandinavians from entering these competitions, they kind of ruin the odds for everyone else :D
Love the look of this place, but I can't figure where half of the things are, bigger pictures pretty please?
And that little floating bookshelf is brilliant.

Love this space & how you stuck it out through the problem of fitting into this neat space. It's cute & so functional. The loft is such a great bonus!
