What I Love About My Home

I love the all the light, the vintage touches in the kitchen, the sunny garden, and the overall cozy, cottage feel.

Biggest Challenge in Furnishing My Home

Due to the tiny size, there is virtually only one way to lay out the furniture, so rearrangement whims aren't really possible. My landlord's choice of floor-to-ceiling beige paint doesn't help, either. ;)

Not my style, but I think you did a fantastic job here making the most of the space and making it your own.

Very similar in layout to my own little cottage here in Sacramento. Nice job in making it look homey.

I'm a guy and this place is a touch feminine for my taste but it has a wonderful homely feel. Very cosy and yet light and airy at the same time. Good work!

Very homey. Cottage-like. I could live there easily. So I am cottagey type of person--I do not like apartments with windows on only one out of 4 walls. If there are windows in the dining/kitchen...I am in love!

I like this place. It's bright and youthful. The living room is cute but I would also want to veg on that couch and watch TV.

I really like your couch. Nice colour and clean lines, but it looks really comfy. Who makes it? Where did you get it?

The kitchen is too cute!

While I can pick out a couple IKEA pieces, I think there is enough personality and variety here to keep it from looking like a catalogue page.

Cute, I really like the print over your bed.

I have the York sofa with the chaise from Room & Board and it looks identical to the one pictured.

i agree with cndleslie - love the couch! i've been looking for a small sectional type sofa just like this one. Would love to know where this one is from...or suggestions?

Thanks for all the kind words! For those who are wondering about the sofa, I got it at Cost Plus a couple of years ago. I'm not sure if they still sell the same one, but it is definitely comfy, and the chaise/ottoman cushion can be switched to either side so you can shake things up.

The quilt is Dwell for Target, and the sheets came from Target as well. Definitely deco on a budget. :)

It's a charming little house without being twee. I especially like the detailing in the kitchen counters. And the display of the little green stuffed toy over the bed.

Stuart, thank you! It's Ikea's Skruvsta chair, but they may have discontinued the pattern:

That poster over the bed haunts me; I love it, and pretty much every IKEA in America is sold out of it so it won't be in my home. It does look great in yours. Cute place.

Wow, the standard in this years Small Cool Comp is really high. This is very different, style wise, to my last fav apartment but this is done so well for this style. I love the small cool competition. Great to see so many different personalities expressed in these tiny spaces.

Owlmug, yes, i covered the Poang with fabric from Urban Outfitters. The Chinese lanterns are from Cost Plus, and I just used hooks to hang them from the ceiling. Glad you like them. :)
