720What I Love About My Home
I love the winter morning sun coming in through the bi fold windows and lighting the bedroom, i love the open airy nature of the floorplan ( especially since the doors were taken off) , i love the wooden floors rich history and colour, i love the eclectic nature everywhere you tuen, i love the bedrooms indoor forest and i love the neon light at night when every other light is turned off.
Biggest Challenge in Furnishing My Home
The biggest challenge was accessing certain pieces to accompany the theme of each room, for eg - the living room has a train station waiting room theme from the 50's and so i needed to find certain pieces which would add to that feel without going over the top.

Outstanding. Steve got everything right. Just wish we could get a better look at that kitchen wall on the left.

Can I vote twice? No? Dang. (Okay, I'll stop now.)

A bit funky but totally functional! Example: the wall o'lockers/file cabinets: wow!
the kitchen space generally is great, and the bedroom forest is fun.
good job!

The dress form dressed in man clothing is too cute. Nice flat. The sun porch fantastic.

Love the terrace. The lockers in the kitchen turned out to be a great touch.

LOVE the lockers in the kitchen... I love this kind of quirky creative aesthetic, especially when a person is so obviously gifted at keeping it just this side of "too far"... FUN space!

Overall this place is really nice.
I especially like the bedroom with that "forest feel". Also... what a sun room! I wish I had one of those!
I'm just not sure about stacking up the metal cabinets.

Am fascinated with:
- Dining Table top;
- Stacked file cabinets & lockers;
- Book display (living rm);
- Hanging drawers/boxes (bedrm)
- Maybe bedroom art display on right (can't see it too well)
- Sunroom.
Everything else fits together or pulls it together well. 720 sq feet of heaven.

Totally rad. Where could one find that awesome magazine/book rack in the living room? Or is it custom-made?
view kellykat0's profile
I LOVE that sunroom!! Drool...
And the wall of books as art is really cool, too. I may have to do something similar here at home.

Nice Work! Looks like such a warm and inviting pad.

Looove it! Can I ask which part of Sydney is this in?
Where did you get your fab magazine or book rack? I couldn't tell if you made it yourself and it is just painted and with shelves or it somehow attaches to the wall?

I love that there's space for a sunroom in a small flat. I love the overhead arches (perfect for a train station theme). And you made it even better! Witty and delightful.
You really transformed the humble lockers into a highlight. The book wall must be copied. Is there a story for that huge mirror, and is the reflected train schedule written by you on a blackboard?
I like your outfit. too. ;)

LOVE the locker storage in the kitchen.
The whole apartment feels spacious and light. Great job. But I do wonder how you read in bed.

My favorite element is the stacked industrial storage. They each have their own character.
I also quite love the kitchen itself. What great appliances and layout.

Really beautiful space. Clean and spare feeling while still having tons of style, collections, and quirk. I'd love to hang out here. :)

How do you work the file cabinets on high? It's a very attractive idea; is it practical too?

Australians represent!
This is a great example of big ideas done well in a small space: the mural in the bedroom, the enormous triumvirate of chesterfields/mirror/tram scroll in the living room, the wall of lockers in the kitchen. I also like the use of old x-ray viewers for artworks, the clustered lights over the dining table, and the old-drawers-as-shelves thing in the bedroom. Basically this whole place is exquisitely done.
I look forward to seeing a full tour when the Small Cool contest is over.

The sunroom is sooo cool! Not crazy about the bedroom, but everything else is so amazing. The Kings Cross Station sign is the best thing I've seen all year.

What a dream - and a sunroom, too. Like the locker-style filing cabinets, too. Great storage - and not just for paper!

I am moving into the sunroom, stat. Incredible place - love that you aren't following any design rules, it's obviously all you!

Lovely apartment. I like the enchanted forest on your bedroom wall. And the sunroom makes me want to pop down to the Victoria Room for some sandwiches and a Pimms!
