Color Inspiration
I wanted to stay with a light neutral for most of the room, so I chose a very pale grey. I did this so I could make as much use of the natural light as possible and use accessories and an accent wall for the big color. as for the blue wall, I wanted something bold and cozy, but in a cool color. It took me about 3 paint changes throughout the year before I finally found the perfect one. because of this, by husband has dubbed this wall my 'mood wall'. The nice thing about an accent wall is that it is fairly inexpensive and easy to change.
Color Tips
Go with your gut....take chances with color. One of the great things about paint especially, is the ability to change it easily if you don't dig it. Give it a few days to settle in. Sometimes, using a bold or different color can be a shocking change. I say give it a while, even if you may be skeptical after you first get it up on the wall. Sometimes it takes shifting some furniture or accessories a few times to really make it all work.

the pops of green, aqua and turquoise make the grey and dark periwinkle even more elegant . I like that you brought in those little painted side tables, ( the green and aqua )
I love the lighting under the books... how does that work???

Thanks for the lovely comments!
kassgood: the light is an under cabinet light that we installed to the bottom side of the shelf above the 'play table'. We have plugged in and on a little switch. It's so convenient and lets you create little spaces out of otherwise dark corners.
Thanks foe checking out our space!
