I'm inspired by all kinds of things in popular culture and design. For this room, I was particularly inspired by Barbie dolls, a box of crayons, a pair of Nike sneakers that I love and black Chanel nail polish.

I love the idea of black and navy together, as well as putting red and pink together. The navy side table is nice. A Creative and practical room.

Another fabulous black walled space, love the blackboard effect.

But please please move that shelf in the last picture properly into the corner (possibly perpendicular to where it is now) and show off those shapely legs against the black wall - ;)!

I have the same lampshades in black & white - from forever ago - in my entry (Cathy's "Always Sunny in Portland" room). They're so fun! Looks great in this room.

I agree stationeryfiend, those legs don't deserve to be hidden in that corner. Out in the open against that wall would be just fine. Other than that, love the colour scheme!
