Color Inspiration
Of course Apartment Therapy is a huge inspiration for me. I get so excited to see what's new on the blog everyday. I really love color and the way something is arranged is important to me. I think if you use colors you like, you will be a better person because of it!
Color Tips
Really just a gut feeling is what I go by. I know there are all sorts of rules applying to color, but that is too stifling for me. If you think it works, it does. Sometimes things don't work out like I imagine, but I will put away the item(s) that aren't working and eventually a new idea will come to me.

The smoky gray is Iron Frost which is a color from Lowe's, but I got Sherwin Williams to mix it for me in their Cashmere Flat brand. I love it!

My favorite detail is the mismatched lamps with the matched shades. They look more balanced than completely unrelated lamps would (especially since the shades end up at the same height), but they look more relaxed than identical lamps would (even though I prefer a matched set myself and am always puzzled by people who scream and faint when they think something is "matchy-matchy"). Your choice shows care and inventiveness.

This is my favorite. I agree with the others the missed matched lamps are perfect. I love this room! It's the simplicity of it that I'm attracted to. This is a color I've been looking for my own bedroom. What color did you use?
