Color Inspiration
Color inspires me. I seek it everywhere I go. Labels on international food packaging, flower gardens, clothing racks at the Goodwill, vintage fabrics, old children's books and design magazines. I love to see color contrasted against color, with some white used as a relief. I love the drama, the intensity, the energy and the life-force that it gives. Color is pure power and emotion! Use it purposefully to create more magic in your world!
Color Tips
What colors make you feel happy? What colors relax you and help you feel safe? Trust your gut. Be your own color guru. Who's life (and house) is it anyhow?

Wow--this is a lively, fun space. Love the Bambi piece.

Bright, vivacious, and brimming with humor, without being kitsch or too self-consciously "retro". Lovely job! Also a great antidote in this competition, which in my opinion could be retitled "Vintage Mirror on the Wall, Who Is the Most Mid-Century Modern Of Us All".

I have that same print (Japan) in my office - I can't believe how many people ask if I got it in Japan - uh yeah. I think I'll just start saying yes to see a new reaction.

Monica, you have great colour sense. Your spaces are so inviting. Can you tell me where you got the rug, the one at the entrance to the dining room? thanks!

Monica! So nice to see your place represented on Apartment Therapy for the second time. I used to be the display artist for the Madison Anthropologie and we met at the poof making workshop! I see you made some of your own. Looks great!
