Stephanie's "Orange & Turquoise" Room
Orange & Turquoise
Name:
StephanieLocation:
Poway, CaliforniaDivision:
WestColors Used
Orange for the walls. High gloss white for the wood wall panel and shiny white vinyl for the tufted wall treatment.
Color Inspiration
This room is an entertainment room. Disco ball for dancing, big screen tv for wii or taking in a game. Orange, white and turquoise was the perfect combination to use this room, it is fun and flirty.
Color Tips
For a punch of color, the best advice I can give is to don't over use it. Adding lots of whites really showcases the main color. I always use at least 3 colors in one room, either with accessories, furniture or paint, it gives the room more depth and interest.

The wall was designed by me and then fabricated by this company http://www.patterncut.com/ It is made out of a thin wood veneer. Thanks again!

Seriously stunning. Usually I shy away from decor accentuated by a disco ball, but all the other elements made me wish, too, that I was on the guest list. LOVE!

Thank you again for the nice comments! @mello1 and @tropicalihoney
I have contacted Pattern Cut who did the panels and they said that they can make them. You would have to contact them directly for the cost, it depends on size and quantity. Patterncut.com They are made from a thin wood and were secured with dowels glued on one side of the panel and then drilled into the wall. We covered the dowels with PVC pipe to hide the dowels. Hope this helps! Thanks again, Stephanie

wow looks like a showroom for a professional designer. Has too many ideas for one room but they are all quite interesting if not always successful all together in one room. The amateur home owner should be very proud of themselves.

Sorry but this looks like its out of an Austin Powers set. Great for 10 mins but would wear thin pretty quickly. Not a livable space in my humble opinion and not at all sure about the mattresses stuck to the wall. However, looks like this could be the region winner based on all the Facebook friends that have voted in the past 24 hours.

I really love this color combo, fun and stylish glam.I absolutely luv the wall panel, texture shapes you used to frame the tv.
I usually don't like orange in a room but you combined it beautifully with my fav color turquoise,I luv it!!! I'm definitely a fan of orange now. I voted for you! I hope you win.
view JS_VISUALdesign's profile
This really is a great room. The combination of colors are perfect -- the orange is bold and the turquoise is very calming. Though all the elements are exciting, like the panelling and the mongoliam lamb pillows, it's not all cluttered and overdone. Even though you might say this room is a specific taste, it seems comfortable and welcoming and I think it would have broad appeal (evidenced by the fact that it is running neck and neck for the win).

I want a disco ball for my bathroom!. Wow the vinyl tufted wall. I love that idea. I used to have a headboard like that but I like the idea for a whole wall. Do you do that? Can you give a tutorial on how.

Stephanie, I've been on your interior design website/blog where I have seen your home and this is a surprising and bold departure from the rest of the house. What made you decide on this theme?
