This is am amazing space. This place is very well thought out. I've seen people put many different colors in one space and it looks like a garage sale. You my Dear are great at it.

@ paul.sikkema - Paul, that is actually an old Pachinko machine from the 70s. That would be rad TV though, wouldn't it?

THIS is how you do neutral walls and still have a vibrant, colorful space. A ton of the entries this year are way too neutral to warrant being in the contest and should take a cue from this space. It's awesome.

And almost completely off topic, I want to recommend Lucy Maria Boston's Green Knowe books to whoever in your house reads YA fiction. Recent editions have covers done by the same artist who did the Lemony Snicket books. The best part is still what's inside the covers, though.

This, in my opinion, is one of the best interpretations of "vintage meets contemporary" I have seen in years.

Amazingly skillful job of bringing LOTS of colors together! Very happy, artistic yet also somehow understated space. This entry seems much more to be about COLOR than so many others. SO many.

This was the only room, where I felt I could walk in, chuck my stuff down and have a coffee, relax, and not be paranoid if I was making a mark on anything.
It's a "real" home, and the only one that made me smile.

Okay, so I guess you didn't win the grand prize, but let me just say that the Blue/Gray room has zero personality. I can't tell if anyone even lives there. But your home...yes...I can see that a family lives there and plays games together, and is learing piano and loves to read. Much more inviting and 'real.' ;-)

Your place was so vibrant. I felt I could have relaxed in your space as well as Alison's and Turtle's. I loved all three rooms--all obvious winners.
