Color Inspiration


I designed the color palate around textiles from my family. I wanted to create a warm space, so I used my own heirlooms and keepsakes to create a fun and loving environment. My godmother gave my parents a vintage rag rug when I was born, but when I grew up, it was put in the attic. Recently, I pulled it out of storage and couldn't believe how well it fit in with my indie/vintage aesthetic. Besides the trip down memory lane, it matches everything! The other source of color is a hand knit blanket made by my great-aunt Ida. The retro colors are my amazing and look great with my modern black couch.

Color Tips


Love a color? Stick with it! In this room, I used several variations of the blue to compliment and contrast each other at the same time. Try adding textiles or painting smaller pieces of furniture, like my turquoise side table. It helps the grey blue on the walls pop.
