Sweet Rhapsody from Behr is the vivid turquoise color in the main room of my studio. I found a pop printed piece of art at a thrift store with orange and magenta accents. The sleeping loft was a sandy color, Urban Rhapsody from Behr. I selected a duvet and pillow set from Jonathan Adler's Chinoise print which is a warm orange color and contrasted it with his lime green silk printed pillows.
My studio was very narrow and had exposed bricks on one wall so incorporating color to brighten the small space in an affordable way was important to me. I was inspired by the vivid use of color by designers like Wary Meyers, who were kind enough to point me in the right direction with my turquoise wall color.
Think about the lighting in your space and work with that to create the environment that you are looking for. My space was a long narrow studio so I needed to make sure it was bright, welcoming, and fun. Don't be afraid to use bright colors -- they're fun!
