Color Inspiration
I discovered my fainting couch in 2008 -- it was LOVE at first sight. Unfortunately, I lived in a 200 sq. ft. apartment and opted for a bed instead of a couch! In 2009, I moved into my 500 sq. ft. palace. First, I needed a table and chairs since I could no longer reach my bed from my kitchen. A girl needs a place to eat her takeout. I found my beautiful table and chairs on clearance. The love of my life picked out the eucalyptus green to paint my new chairs and gave me a quart of paint for Christmas. Very romantical - sorry girls - he's taken! Next came the wall-o-photos (which continues to grow). The freegan in me has been hitting up Craigslist for cheap/free frames around town. I also decided it was about time to get the fainting couch I'd been coveting for 2 years. As luck would have it, I found it on CL in Hartford. ROAD TRIP! Lastly, I needed something to make my couch, photos, and table "pop". Who doesn't love a spicy mustard wall?

Love your fainting couch! I've had a craving for one as well but, I also crave a comfy sofa where I can curl up and watch long movies.
BTW, where did you find that lovely couch? Thanks for the fun photos and story.

Thanks for the comments! The coveted couch is from Urban Outfitters originally and I wanted to say in my description (but was limited to 1000 characters) that it actually is very comfortable!

Love your choice of vibrant colors...and your photo wall! So stylish, yet personal (I'm a fan of B&W photography).
I've been doing some 'color therapy' lately too and have used Behr Premium Plus Ultra paint- LOVE it! I am not fond of painting, but it made the job fast and easy (Lime Pop and Dolphin Fin Grey look fabulous together).

It really bugs me that the last picture is of a plant and we don't see almost 2/3 of this space.

I wish I could have included the full space, but I had a large problem in the form of a picture window that got in my way. I didn't see the contest until the last day you could put in a submission and the sun was going down when I got home from work. I had to eliminate the window so that the colors could be shown.
I have an urban garden that sits in the window sill of the picture window.

I too love the bright yellow wall; however, your display of photos, pictures, etc. is WAY TOO HIGH on the wall. It looks ridiculous. Why not follow the wavy outline of the fainting couch and hang them much lower.
