Ashley & Kevin's "Kind of Blue" Dining Room

Kind of Blue

San Francisco, California

Colors Used

Caribbean Azure, Tyler Stone Grey, bright white, black, and yellow.

Color Inspiration

We recently bought our house in San Francisco and it has a mid-century, open floor plan. Most of the interior of the house is painted a neutral color but we wanted a strong contrast on our dining room wall that would be visible from the living room and kitchen, too. The Caribbean Azure color seems to strike the balance between being both bright and sophisticated, and definitely brings life to a room where we love to entertain. Our dog, Happy, seems to love the color too...she wanted to pose in every shot.

Color Tips

When using color on walls, choose one that either has a little black or taupe mixed in to tone down the brightness and transform the color into something a little more elegant and livable. You can always bring in bright accents like a yellow stool or a bright red chair to add some fun.

cute dog but you should think about making it even cuter, like putting a hat on it......or say, stuffing it in a bumble-bee outfit

Love that color blue with a splash of yellow! It reminds me of Kara Paslay's guest bedroom, which I also love.
