Sebastian's "Eye-catching Turquoise" Room

Eye-catching Turquoise

Name:

Sebastian

Location:

Leeuwarden, Netherlands

Division:

International

Colors Used

We used two colors besides the white. The turquoise one is called 'Pirate' and the gray one 'Eye-catcher'.

Color Inspiration

Because we already had the white high-gloss furniture, we thought it would look best if we used a grayish color for the contrast. Because white and gray are cold colors, we added a little purple in the gray which gives it a warmer feeling. As an additional color we wanted something colorfull and something that would stand-out. After looking at a lot of palettes we decided to go with this turquoise like color. It's stands out, isn't too cold and we don't know anyone who has this color. We took the gamble and it turned out to look great!

Color Tips

Be original and do something that no one else has. I love the peoples reaction when they enter the livingroom for the first time.

I love that couch and chair combo! Where did you find those?

Thank you for the comments!

horsegal148; The chair is from Ikea, its from Karlstad. I'm not sure where you from but over here they still have plenty of them. We got the couch from a private person off the internet. I'm not sure where they got it from but it's not a set, it just matches very well :)

I love the set of photos above the couch. Are they yours?

LOVE the colours, this is the exact colour scheme I'm going to use in my basement suite (but it has a lighter shade of a neutral grey). Got my vote.

I love the whole assortment of your room! I am going to have to find a place in my home for that Eye-catcher gray - it is so stunning. I love your grouping of black/white frames and I was curious if they are all photos, or prints. Great room, Sebastian.

I adore that bluish gray color even more than your turqoise. I've been planning a similar color for my inset wall. It works so well with the grey, white, turquoise, and lavender. What specific paint is it?

Thank you all for the nice comments! Altough we're most likely not winning the contest, it sure is nice to get nice feedback!

boliyou: I once found these pictures on the internet and we really liked it. So we custom-printed it on canvas. It looks like a painting though.

AngelaE: Most of them are in fact photo's, but we have some prints of random things we like for example favorite musician's etc.

ProfKD: It's just regular mixed wall paint. I might have the color-code somewhere over here, let me check it!

I like the color palette a lot. Very soothing.

But I think the pictures above the sofa are hung to high. Same goes for the white Ikea wall cabinet above the TV.

And I'm in love with that white floor lamp. I've been looking for something similar. Please let me know where you got it. Thanks.

What is the brand of your paint so that I can duplicate this? Thanks!
