Color Inspiration
When we first began dating, my husband and I backpacked in Europe for a month. In Amsterdam, we picked up a handful of Van Gogh prints, which ultimately inspired the entire color scheme. From there, we have built upon it with more modern touches.
Color Tips
What seems to have worked well for us is integrating varying shades and neutrals. Because our colors are primarily, er, primary, it could quickly begin to look like a kindergarten classroom, but the use of just-off shades, like maroon and navy, and neutrals, like brown and white, help to tone it down and mature it up a bit.
