Wan-Ching's "Happy Morning" Kitchen

Happy Morning

London, UK

Colors Used

yellow, orange, red and brown

Color Inspiration

Kitchen is the start of the day so we decided to go bright, all our le creuset is red colorway so it's a bonus! We decided to go for the same colour range so it will look bright but also warm. So we painted the frame and steps orange, then painted four colour ways on the drawers.

Color Tips

Have a basic idea of what you want and just go for it. Nowadays there are so many colours on the market and some are just so very similar. We used to stand in B&Q for ages because we can't decide on two colours that's almost the same...... So just go with what your basic colour and trust me, even if it's not the one you have in mind. You'd still be surprised how well it presented. Adventure is out there!

I would love to see more yellow in the kitchen itself. Your table area makes me smile!

Thx everyone!

To Pinkypurple:
That's definitely what we are going to do the next step! It's the tiles below the cabinet that I want to colour!

To lollybox:
We got it from Habitat, they are a UK based brand I think. I remember seeing a post in Apartment therapy discussing where you can get this type of clock in the US before! Good luck!

Great job of using color to do most of the work in the kitchen. It really makes the other, more humble, elements in this kitchen shine.

Sorry, I didn't see the same question from someone else before re: clock.
Habitat won't send it overseas. can't get it in US. Didn't see any other merchant here who sells it here.

This one's fun + cute and all...but I've tried that yellow and it's just too unflattering to spend too much time in.

Plus anyone else notice the awful kerning on the word 'EAT'? As a typographer I can't stand to look at that. Bummer they didn't get that correct. :)

@Michimama I'm pretty sure karlsson sales sth similar, but I do think heals is cuter... Too bad they don't ship to US!

@marymary27 I'm sorry you don't like it! But I am happy you noticed the kerning! We decided to use eat simply because it's in the kitchen and that wall can only fit in 3 words... But there's a sandwich chain shop in UK called EAT as well. So in order to be different! We decided to make the E bigger, and actually it represents my chubby husband (His name is Ed). It does look a bit weird if you stare at it. But it makes me smile sometimes when I think of my husband!

But what's about the floor? It's sooo ugly!

Do you truly think a dirty orange kitchen towel is a an element in color composition?

Your title says it all. This is definitely the happiest kitchen ever. I may have to model one of my future kitchens after this one.
