Color Inspiration

We were inspired to have a Tropical Colored room, inspired by the water around us and . We wanted that saturated color that looks so good with accents of lighter colors. Also finding this sofa in Palm springs helped a lot.

Color Tips

It's good o think about when this room is used the most, under what type of light will you see the color and make sure you see the color on the wall during this period. Does this color flow with the rest of the spaces ?

Although I wouldn't make my room like yours, I favorited it 'cause I think the color and the decor takes very well into account the actual space. Also, it reminds me of '80s sea resorts (even before seeing the pool garden).

I love that little teal chair in the corner -- anyone know where it's from?

Love this color. I have used this color in some variation in all of the common spaces in my house. It goes so well with the blond wood floors. Some cute curtains would kick this up a notch!

Where did you get that awesome patio table and chairs? I think we need a house tour. I love everything.

Love your outdoor space! Even more so than the room, which is lovely... but man.. that patio and pool is very pretty! Love the colours of the outdoor furniture.

swdc - that small chair is a Plycraft Cherner or Rockwell chair. Almost 1200$ new. I inherited three originals from my mother-in-law.

The patio furniture are old Woodard Sculptura chairs painted in bright colors, they were picked up at flea markets for about $ 25.00 each , they are getting expensive now, the other small blue chair is by plycraft for $ 15.00 and we recovered it in naugahyde.

I think this room is great. But wow, @makeart, that's a low blow.

I think everything flows together quite haroniously. I love how your artwork fits into the room. Where did you get that groovy planter stand?

The planter was a $5 flea market find, but they can be bought from Design Within Reach...thanks

I LOVE this place! The colours are cheery and well-done, tasteful and they all flow (even to the backyard). Congrats! You get my vote.

Also: I agree with the other comments; is nobody actually moderating these submissions? This place is gorgeous but most of the other submissions can't hold a candle to this. Some of them are pretty horrible and others have no colour at all, which is quite odd for a colour contest.

I would LOVE to know the name of the wall colour here. Would you be able to let me know? Thanks!

As it's getting colder here in the Northeast, I'm liking this even better than when I first looked at it (and I liked it then!). It's party ready. Are you taking reservations?

Dear Citipearl, Yes we are taking reservations , the pool is heated and as former New Yorkers who are so happy not to be shoveling snow when you get here drop me a line and take a dip.............

I am glad you didn't just do an accent wall in that color. Everything is so harmonious. That bird chair is so comfortable. I love your backyard. I like that you have several different colors going on bck there.
