Haley's "Dramatic Dimension" Living Room

Dramatic Dimension

Name:

Haley

Location:

Nashville, Tennessee

Division:

South

Colors Used

Dark brown (with a slight green undertone), blue and white.

Color Inspiration

I love the idea of the living room being the most dramatic room in a home. Because my furniture was already brown and blue, I wanted to use brown on the walls. So, in order for it to be unique I picked a color that has a greenish golden tint to it.

Color Tips

Get comfortable with using lots of color. Just because the majority of your room might be made up of two or three colors, you can add some dimension with the use of pillows, candles, vases, etc. in unexpected colors. Throw the "matching" rule book out the window, for sure!

I like the saturated wall color, however, what really gives the room so much personality is the balance of the deep wall color against the white and black of the wonderful patterned rug and then the unexpected light blue sofa. You follow up with intriguing accents that keep they eye looking around the room. Great job.

Love this room - I enjoy how the color is carried out into the entryway also!

Really nice understated room. I LOVE that couch. Where is it from? My only complaint is there is too much stuff on the coffee table. But then again, I like an almost bare coffee.

Love this room and the color scheme (my favorite) but I don't like colored candles.

I really like it! I voted for it. The colours on the wall may not be the "boldest" submission, but it is dramatic and there is a lot of use of bold patterns and textures. I love the rug, it just pops in this room.

Like the way that the green accessories play up the greenish undertone in the brown wall color; a subtle, sophisticated touch.
