Brittany's "Fresh Findings" Room

Fresh Findings

Name:

Brittany

Location:

Whitmore Lake, Michigan

Division:

North

Colors Used

Sparkling Lake (Valspar) with Grey and Granny Smith Accents and Dark Kettle Black (Valspar) with hints of 1960s Orange

Color Inspiration

Over the past two years our home's high ceilings and inherited quirks have lent itself to a modern but lively palette that merges current and nostalgic pieces. We have one united living space on our main level so color plays a huge part in separating the spaces. Relics passed on from family members and friends mingle with budget friendly furnishings to make a style that is all ours.

Color Tips

Too much matching is boring! Take colors that you are drawn to consistently in fashion, art and travel and incorporate them into your home. Contrast is essential.

Love the kettle black wall, this is the exact space in which you can do this.

Love this color combo. I like how you're using the one Orla Kiely cannister rather than the set for the pop of orange. Cool barstools too.

Great paint on the kitchen walls- well done! And I love, love, love the counter stools. She took what looks like an otherwise ubiquitous kitchen and nook and turned it into a unique, self-defining space that looks fresh and fun!

Awesome. And I agree with the earlier comment - this is exactly the kind of room where you can pull off a black accent wall. It's expansive and has tons of light. Great job!
