What happened to the occasional post about Austin, TX that used to come through the Los Angeles section?? Austin is full of wild, hipster designs and creative experiments! Just check out the Cathed...
Is "fruit leather" the Yankee term for fruit roll-ups? (I'm from Texas.)
My Mom always used to just pop open a jar of apple sauce, spread it around in a circle, and bam - instead fruit...
If it were connected to the bar where you serve food & drinks, or some sort of landing strip in the living room, I would be all over this like a fat kid on a twinkie.
Connected to wher...
I have the exact same situation/problem with my balcony. Ours came with pigeon screens installed all the way around, though... and we just sit out there anyway, and let the neighbors gawk if they w...
I love clean, white, and modern, but this is a little too sterile for me. The best part of a clean white apartment is the ability to make small objects pop with color, only this one is lacking anyt...
Wow, that's a little anal. I just keep one plastic tub to collect all the cleaning supplies together on one side, and a paper bag on the other to catch all my plastic shopping bags. No need for lab...
Another way to fix a scratched DVD or CD is with toothpaste (the white kind, not the blue gel kind). Buff it with toothpaste, and it fills in the cracks and bumps that the laser is getting lost in....
I've been living in Austin for 5 years.
Don't move to Austin if:
- You don't like hot weather (we're 80 about 10 months out of the year, and three of those are probably 90 ),
You could get some sort of stained-glass decals to put over it. Or get some translucent paint and just paint over it, maybe even just one solid color, so that the light that flows through has a che...
Most of my changes are in trying not to be so wasteful. I try to only buy as many groceries as I can possibly use before they go bad, bringing my lunch to work, not eating out unless there's a spec...
I love the introduction of nature into the minimalist space with the pond and wall of Ivy. :) Bringing the outdoors indoors is always a winner in my book!
Wonder if that would work for schools/universities that have to grow and flex to accommodate different numbers of students, numbers of classrooms, and activities all the time . . .

Come on, where's your sense of childlike wonder at the beauty of simple things??? I think this is great.
Books are TOO sacred objects! This is disgraceful! Horrible! What's next? Dog-eared pages? Cracked spines? Bent covers?

Hah! I love this. Gives off great, ambient light but it's still whimsical.
I like it, but at the same time it slightly reminds me of my old university's library, which was stuck in the 70s. . .

I think they're fantastic. They're powerfully intricate. Then again, I'm particularly fond of using lines to create organic shapes . . .

That's amazing. His home is somehow spacious yet cozy, clean/calm yet full of busy interesting objects.
