I have the generic off-white tiles that seem to be ubiquitous in starter homes. I vacuum and then mop them with floor cleaner. I'll get down and scrub with a sponge if there's something sticky on t...
My house has a decent sized hallway in it. Not as grand as that one, but I think I may place two bookshelves in it with a bench inbetween for putting on/taking off my shoes.
Why not pop a cookie or two in the toaster oven? It might not be instant gratification, but the wee little ovens do heat up fast and cookies only take about 10 minutes to bake.
Agreed, that kitchen is a pretty good size for an apartment. They have full sized drawers and lots of cabinets; I didn't have that luxury when I rented. Perhaps if they decluttered, they'd have mor...
I don't wear shoes in my own house, but I don't expect guests to take theirs off unless they want to.

I'm not a fan of IKEA's particle board and veneer stuff, but some of their solid hardwood items are quite nice. Like most people, I prefer well-made solid wood furniture and usually turn to resale ...
Very clever use of minimal space. Since the ladder has a niche, it's not in the way as I originally feared.

I love the green walls! Is the paint color custom or can it be found under a particular name at the paint store?
Go to a thrift store like Goodwill or Salvation Army and find a traditional looking nightstand for $5.
Oooh, I like buying locally and these are gorgeous. Definitely going to get one as a housewarming gift to myself.
