I definately think you should concentrate on accessories now. As I personally moved many many many times in my 20s, furniture was too big for one apartment, or too small for another.

You can post your cabinetry on Craigslist under materials. In New York that had a place to donate used building materials and they'd resale I'm not sure if Chicago does that, but they should.
