Ouch! "Back in the day when organic was unheard of"? In the 90's? I was gardening organically in the 70's...and no, I am not from California. Point is, organic gardening has been around a long time...
This sofa is gorgeous. Personally I'd do a soft warm grey like Benjamin Moores San Antonio grey, add plenty of white and a few blue accents. Very elegant.
