I just got Wearstler's book, Hue, out of the library and pretty much hated everything in it. I like these designs here, though. Love the lighting in picture 2.
I work in a biology lab with flasks and beakers all day. Good lab practice is to never eat anything out of labware... so I find these things a bit unappetizing. But I love lab decor outside the kit...
I have the same Syroco mirror in Picture #2, a thrift store find at $4. I painted mine black b/c the finish was gross. There was a house tour a while back where they have the same mirror, painted g...

Took the words right out of my mouth!
I wish there was a close-up picture of the silver barware cabinet in the living room (pictures 5 and 8). Is it a metal cabinet or silver-painted wood? If it's painted wood, what paint was used? If ...
I laughed out loud at Blandwagon's comment! I think the coffee table is awesome. I appreciated the shots with the "messy" wiring, b/c I'm renting and have wires hanging from my pendants too.
I think a better post would be ingenius ways to hide or deflect the impact of the cord.
@lasell: do you think stretching the cord out on the floor in a sunny spot would help? Sometimes...
When I get that urge, I go furniture shopping. Sounds risky right? Well it reminds me that I have no money for new furniture and therefore what I have is better than milk crates and cardboard boxes...
I would go for it if I got to go pick out my tree and cut it down, then someone else dragged it home and hauled it up the steps to the apartment and set it up for me. Extra tip if they will put the...

They are rubber plants. Very common, you can find them at any big box home improvement store, even ikea has them sometimes. There are lots of different colors, some are varigated yellow...
I LOVE the eggplant walls in the daughter's room. And those ceilings are just incredible! Also, the plants are beautiful.
But I hated the toilet seat. Sorry, I know you guys are rent...
The product and packaging is almost identical to Biokleen and I find that kind of annoying. I love Biokleen; I use Bac-out on my cloth diapers. And it comes concentrated so you get 2x as much for t...
I'm with Lisa (Montreal). I'd like to see this house fast-forwarded 10 years. I'm buying a house with a Colonial Williamsburg vibe that I hate but will have to live with for a little while, so I wa...
I think the lobster chart in Picture 6 gives me the heebie jeebies. I'll stick to botanicals, thanks.
Here's another great resource right here in DC. Botanical prints from the Special ...
I agree with kjdecoteau. Anything that brings them together, especially board games. I'm getting my sisters' families the Apples to Apples Junior game (1 per family). $15 for hours of fun and they...

Maybe all those people with unusually spelled names are on welfare because no one would bring them in for interviews.... ;)

Oh, I see now that it was one of her designs for the Rug Company. Even more beautiful up close!
She has a fascinating story! I was drawn to the tapestry(?) behind her picture. It's definitely going in my inspiration file for a DIY project later!
So am I the only one who finds picture 6 sincerely creepy?
Science nerd representin'! Totally love it!
