I think those borax concoctions are a waste of time if you live in an area prone to roaches. What I suggest:
Buy BENGAL spray.
Empty out your kitchen.
Spray every single crease,...
Hm... light blue on all the walls.
It's neutral and compliments the warm colors you already have, plus it looks great on sunny days and not-so-sunny days.

Bon Ami is your friend for life.... just as great as Mrs. Meyer's but waaaaay cheaper & a few good old cast iron skillets. Those pop-up sponges (I get mine from Trader Joe's) are also pretty awesome.
