CB2 had a bedroom set up with a blue/teal wall and a lot of orange and green accents I thought worked really well. You can see it in the room views here...
I wouldn't put an incandescent in - they produce a lot of heat which a flourescent fixture wouldn't necessarily be designed to handle. Could cause a fire hazzard or discolor any plastic in the fixt...
If you really like those pendants, I'm sure an electrician could wire them up for you without a track.
Don't know your overall aesthetic, but these pendants could be fun. With carbon f...
I'm currently experimenting with this in my loft - installing 6" base throughout, painted a dark charcoal grey. Planning to also paint the cement beams/pillars throughout the same color to accent t...
Then if you have an Apple TV, once you've ripped, use handbrake (available free) to convert into Apple TV compatible format (handbrake has an Apple TV preset so you don't even need to play with set...
Just walked by crate and barrel on michigan ave last night and everything was green! Didn't go in and look, but as I recall most things were more kelly green than earthier colors.
It's great. Think I may move to the crate and barrel wood one, though, as it matches the darker wood tones in my bath better. Never going back to a cloth mat.
I love the hansgrohe raindance series. You can get a 6" head for about $80 if you shop around. Mixes the water with air so it gives a nice downpour without eating up too much water. You can also ge...

What's so bad about super white? I've got a loft where some spaces are warm and some cool. The super bright white (Behr) keeps the whole place feeling clean and modern while also being able to refl...
White is definitely the way to go.
I've used a similar tile in my bath (Hakatai Jade Blend) and found that wood trim between the tile and the white walls does a nice job of easing the ...

Expedit shelving on wheels is another option I've commonly seen.

Ikea Bjursta is a similar look. Largest size has same seating capacity (6-10). They carry 3 colors (natural, brown, black-brown). Price is $349
As an alternative to "wainscotting," I've also seen a vertical strip of tile from floor to ceiling in line with the sink work well.
I'd go with a mix of greens and grays. Think you want a color to play off the wood tones otherwise you're going to have a pretty generic look...
One of the best Ikea hacks I've ever seen... http://ikeahacker.blogspot.com/2007/04/malmese-twins.html

I think the fiberglass chairs are overdone myself. I also think your space is a little too traditional/transitional style to pull them off well.
