I think tubs were put in the kitchen for the heat factor...kitchens had the stove and the rest of the apartment would have been on the cold side...I grew up in a tenement and they can be quite cold...
A cheap medical walker with wheel casters put on it and a light cheap plastic rectangular container with permilite put in it should be just as good...drilled holes in the bottom..you can buy a walk...
Love older homes with their built in china cabinets and storage areas...all new homes should be built this way...saves so much space and looks neat and orderly...lovely home you have...plain, muted...
Since we are the ones who live inside our space, we are the ones who should decide how we rearrange our living quarters...whatever is comfortable to live with..
