how is the overstock version a dead ringer? i have one still in the box because it doesn't seem to be as glossy as the west elm version. is this my imagination? is the west elm version really not ...
I have it in white from overstock too. It's not nearly as glossy as the one from West Elm so I haven't put it together yet - it's still in the box. Maybe this post will make me love it and keep it.

thanks for all the suggestions thus far. for clarification, the molding i am thinking of mimicking in the example picture is the kind on the wall, not the ceiling. just simple boxes.

what's the wall color and trim color you used? i agree with recovering the chairs and maybe a lighter rug.
