Wow! If I lived in Austin, this would be my second home! Now I'm inspired to get my sewing area finished.

In general, I don't like anything that is pretending to be something else. If I couldn't afford the Saarinen table, I'd just buy one of the many other types of inexpensive pedestal tables out there...

Must have been spoiled, as my first dorm room (for two) was 15x15 with 9 or 10 foot ceilings, as it was in a historic building. People who paid extra could have the whole room to themselves. We're ...

You really do need perfect walls to pull it off, otherwise it just looks cheap and tacky. If you have old plaster walls or can't afford a level 5 drywall finish, go flat!

l found the sproost quiz more accurate. I'm 50% French country and 50% vintage modern. If you took the vintage modern furniture and put it in the soaring french rooms, with ethereal jewel tone colo...

I really wonder if some of these commenters have ever seen plywood before. Or even looked at the pics above. Even on my tiny phone I can clearly see that the grain on the legs matches. It IS one pi...

No navy showers here. I'd probably get hypothermia if I tried to stand around dripping wet in this freezing place. I'm doing more for the environment by keeping my temp turned down.

Those chandeliers certainly don't match that setting, but they're antique slip shades that can sell for thousands each. They just need a better home, and the people who buy this house need to admit...

Very cool space, with a lot to look at and be inspired by. Have you painted? It looks like it's still a beige-y landlord white, and it looks too yellow for the space. Going with a cool, more grey w...

I have a clawfoot that I use as a shower, too. I have the curtain that wraps all the way around -- you'd ruin the walls and floor really quickly without it, unless you had a wet room. Even with th...

My kitchen cabinets date from about 1910, and my kitchen sink (a dreamy double drainboard farmhouse sink) dates from 1936. There is a distinct lack of storage, so open shelving was the quick answe...

WHAT in the heck is wrong with you dewi? You may not like the look, but your nasty comments to a total stranger say a lot more about you than they do about the bathroom above.

I made one of these for my dad for Christmas years ago (after reading about it in MS Living). I drew the chart on good paper with an architect's compass, and it really looked beautiful. My only a...

Around here they're considered little better than house trailers. Mostly because the quality is ... little better than a house trailer. Prefab houses have a lot of bad stereotypes to overcome.

Sorry guys, that's not a fine piece of antique furniture! It's a cheap, mass produced dresser from the 30s or 40s (which makes it ... not antique). Just look at the front drawers - the very obvio...

Actually, I think the portrait is awesome. It makes me sad, though, because it's from a time when he really was great. I just can't look at anyone who's done what he's done to his face. It's lik...

OMG! If only I'd found Linda's article sooner! I finally found The One, and I thought we'd spend our lives together, until that old oven mitt drove him away! If only I'd known!

Basically this just reminds me why I hate minimalism.

I love the mimosa and the peony. I'll keep my aqua walls and throw in a few accent pillows, though. I wouldn't put either on the walls.

I guess I misread your question -- didn't realize that you were just looking for another accent wall color. Paint the whole room! It's not that big! It will get rid of the blahs. That wall is jus...
