i keep my shun knives out of the dishwasher and pots/pans because of space
these figs are so gorgeous, i love adding them in a salad along with chicken and lamb, i posted a few photos of several ideas here:
i'm growing some apple green eggplants, not sure how i'm going to cook with it!
slice and sprinkle a bit of salt and sugar.
I'll definitely consider using the wooden spoon/chopstick check. I usually add a piece of garlic or a droplet of water and that works too.

actually I have found the all clad slow cooker on sale at bloomingdales for $60. It's perfect for slow cooking anything and it's a beauty! :)
