I like vignettes, but there are a few too many here for me to appreciate. Some (like the one on the mantel and below the Camera Obscura print) are appropriate decorative elements but a lot of these...

I agree with bepsf. An oriental rug with rich, earthy colors would balance out the more modern furniture as well. And if you guys decide to transition to more traditional decor, then there's no nee...

Why not just hang a small mirror on the wall? This set-up seems precarious.

I always have to empty my pockets at the end of the day, so I like this design a lot. I currently have a little bowl for my change and a tray for my keys and this would be a more streamlined item t...

I'd never throw or go to a 12345 party--seems too structured to be fun. A party is about relaxing and enjoying yourself and shouldn't require homework. Also, "mature conversation" (what does that m...

I wonder if red/azuki beans would work as well in brownies. They're already used in sweet bean paste, which is used in some Asian sweets.

Way to generalize honeyhaze. All those textiles in a bathroom seems like a bad idea to me (mold).

I really dislike all of these kitchens. I like orange, but I think it's better used as an accent or on the walls with the cabinets a more neutral color.

Perfect for that sleazy motel ambiance. That second room is horrid.

This is exactly how I do it, though I usually use half-and-half rather than cream.

Send them out with a plate of appetizers or a bottle of wine or something. And there's nothing wrong with simply saying nicely that you can't cook with people standing around in the kitchen.

Folding chairs and tray tables.

What a sweet place and what an adorable little dog! I especially like the clever bedroom closet and the colors used on the living room walls.

The set-up in the first photo is ridiculous. There looks like there's barely enough room to get by the armchairs. And I think it's a bad idea to put delicate things like vases on the floor anywhere...

It's like a really well done fresh-out-of-school first apartment. Even IKEA or thrift store furniture would kill your budget so you scavenge. You're tired from working at a crappy job all day so yo...

@akay: They'll live in water for a surprisingly long time as long as you change out the water regularly (and this may vary depending on the plant). But you should eventually pot the cuttings.

Bookshelves filled with hats. Makes sense.
