I don't see how this shows more of a disregard for the poor than, say, someone spending several thousand to redo a bathroom with high end materials (possibly a copper sink?) and electronics and wha...

I LOVE that standing planter in the top picture... does anyone know where I can find one? Now that I've gotten that out of my system, it's really a lovely transformation! Subtle, but ...

There's nothing wrong with a bit of geek-chic! For day time window coverings, what about something like a cut out wood screen? Not terribly budget friendly unfortunately... but you ma...

Lovely! You've done an amazing job, especially with a small budget. I LOVE the giant poppy stickers on the fridge (Ikea, right? How removable are they?)

I love your use of color! The place has loads of personality without feeling cluttered with knick-knacks... the last picture freaked me out though (I LOVE insects but spiders terrify me).

The minimalism isn't quite to my taste, but I completely understand your desire to emphasize those amazing ceilings! I just love the tile in the bathroom though, and am incredibly jealous of that ...

Fabulous! I love your use of color and you've used the space brilliantly.

The most common advice going around seems to be "don't worry if you don't get everything done." I found the cure to be a great motivator and way to keep myself on task, but I didn't get everything...

Well I guess I'll kick this off (come on people, I know I'm not the only one representing MN!). I did the cure for the first time this past fall and wasn't planning on joining in again since I'm p...

It depends on what kind of mood I'm already in when I start to clean... but typically i end up cleaning later at night and playing something I can rock out to, like The Dropkick Murphys or The Whit...

I totally hadn't planned on joining in the spring cure since I'm planning on moving in june... but then I figured this is a good excuse to do some pre-move prep and start downsizing and begin creat...

I friend of mine had a great set of "girl tools"--they were good quality, practical tools, just scaled slightly differently to fit women's hands better. And they were a delightful shade of blue. ...

Oh it's really easy! Ideally you should have a staple gun to adhere the fabric to the canvas frame... but I didn't have one and used a hot glue gun instead and it turned out all right.

Absolutely LOVE IT! Did you do the whole room like this though? That seems like it might be a little over-powering (but I have seen some very well done, all black rooms so perhaps not).

Wow... that is absolutely fantastic! I think I'd go mad with only 250sq (I live in 500 and it's fine, but only just...) but you have done and absolutely amazing job working with the space. The la...

I'm not easily grossed out but.... ew. The chair doesn't bother me at all... a bit weird...but whatever. The plates though? I'd feel like my food was under-cooked and that's nasty.

I'm also totally diggin' the fish pillows... more so than the tea lights even!

Yeah... framing isn't cheap. Joann's and Michaels ALWAYS have coupons for 50-60% off custom framing orders and they might have frames that ornate (although I'm not positive). There are also place...

Wow, that's really cool... and I'm betting it's actually a fairly cheap flooring alternative. Personally I'd keep the floor the focal point since it's such a unique feature. The walls...

I quite like the crazy, over the top decorations (lights in time to music anyone?). I personally would never do anything that insane, but they can be fun to look at. I do, however, absolutely DES...
