3 years ago I painted a large wall in the living/dining room black. I love it so much that when our new house is built, black will definately take centre stage.
I put up anaglypta wallpaper on the ceiling of the kitchen in my old house a few years ago. An absolute nightmare to apply, but the end result was positively stunning.

Something more bold? Great idea! Paint the frame glossy black, upholster with a wide black/white stripe.
With so many other things to collect, used bottles from cheap wine seems rather silly.

What did they do to the queen's nose?
I've tried woodgraining (same premise). VERY difficult to acheive a uniform look.
FYI, the red drum lamp is on clearance, better snap one up fast!
