Actually two (XL) twin beds pushed together makes a standard King size mattress not a double or a queen.
I dont think the end tables or lamps are overscaled for the room or the rest of the furniture but definately dwarf the settee.

emmelemm, why not get a rug in a natural material like jute in the exact size that you want for your room and then layer your odd size rug over it?
