yes - definitely white...or maybe a really light cream color? but definitely on the light/white end of the spectrum.

Is that a good spot for a piece of art? Perhaps you could get a huge canvas that would fit over that hole, and paint some cool simple design on it.

I like #2, the japanese print. it's muted and elegant, and will also probably be lasting.
