k.c. - i actually got the curtians from ikea. i planned on sewing the bottom to hem them, but they also come with iron on hem so it can be a no sew project.
paeonia - I got the headboard from west elm. its actually on sale right now for very cheap. i don't find it scratchy at all. it isn't as rough as it looks. its almost as if there is a lacquer over ...
with that white bed i'd say go with the white lamps but paint the wall a color. if you aren't going to paint the wall then stick with the black lamps, the white lamp will just disappear into everyt...
the books are definitely placed where seams would be.

i like to put a mixture of cinnamon and sugar on a pan or a pie tin and 'cook' it on the stove on low. it smells like fresh baked cookies!
