Would I invite friends over? Sure. But which friends depends on the stage I'm at. The same friends I'd hang around in sweats (to borrow Marc's analogy) are the same ones who I'd let see my messy...

Very cool. I really like the comfy reading chair at the end of the bed.

Actually, "black friday" used to mean a good thing--when businesses finally started turning a profit. Red ink in the ledgers meant debt, black meant profit. Of course, after last year's Walmart f...

Absolutely stunning. Honestly, one of the very best tours I've ever seen and the one that probably reflects my personal style the best. The red shelf!

All I see when I look at the first picture is a row of washing machines--like at a laundromat.

I wrote a whole entry on my blog about this a while back. http://www.christineschwalmdesign.com/...

ps-you can generally find inexpensive storage items on craigslist. If you 2 pick something together, it will make the roommate happy and you'll start to inject some of your personality into the sp...

You really need more closed storage. I'm guessing that your roomate doesn't want to part with most of the cds/DVDs/books etc that are there--which is fine. What you need is something with doors t...

I've used a color from Ben moore, 1557 Silver Song that is fantastic. A light blue grey. That color will really make the screen pop, too.

My taste is way more tailored. Not for me.

What a great HOME. It's colorful without being overbearing and thoughtfully designed. I'm loving your closet set up--great option for those of use who could use more space.

@Lisa-very clever headboard idea!

A lot of what makes this home attractive can be done at all different price points. Neutral upholstery, mix of materials (wood, glass, metal), interesting accents, books that reflect the homeowner...

I don't mind the house tours--I'm kind of nosy. Not in the go through your medicine cabinet kind of way, though. I'm an interior designer so I guess people do it to get my approval or something.
