Piling books up like that for extended periods of time breaks the side binding. Then again, if you're stupid enough to order books off Amazon just to decorate with them, you kind of deserve it.
What the hell do political beliefs have to with interior design? If you guys are going to try to start a shitstorm, youtube would be a better (and more relevant) place to do it.
It would really suck if one of the cats got mad at you, they could jump on your head with claws outstretched. This is something my cat would enjoy when I don't let him steal my hair ties :(

I think it would be a lot cheaper (and less painful during more, um, strenuous bed activities) to make the headboard out of fabric stretched over and adhered to padded plywood/cardboard.
Can't you just sand it and re-stain it? I didn't know that this was a difficult concept. The color should come up to the point where covering it with a darker color won't leave it uneven.

You can make stencils out of freezer paper and use acrylic paint to do the same thing for like 5 times less than the sets being sold.

WHAT IS THIS FUCKERY
I don't know why, but this place is so fug to me. It reminds me of the "modern" interior decorating from 1992 that is just super tacky now.
