I'd use the off white under and around the window because that's the wall of the room, and then white on any part that's the built in, including the header.

Brighten up the wood room with a light area rug and accessories, and if you want to see what a lighter wall would do, use flat curtain panels ...
I agree with keeping it white, but putting in a large mirror over the towels. Preferably with a simple but substantial frame that balances the darker wood of the cabinetry.
I would pick a small selection of favourites and frame them in shadow boxes. Hang them in a grouping, and store the rest of the collection out of sight. Rotate in and out of frames at will. ...
