I always use a glass/mug for a long as I can. I'm not a coffee/tea drinker so that helps make it easy. When drinking milk I rinse it quickly after the milk is gone. and its good to go again.

Yikes I think the Dieffenbachia is a real mismatch for the kitchen. The kitchen is too light and bright to support such a large, heavy, dark plant - especially on counter top level.
