Ha! when I first saw this movie, it was like eye design candy...I couldn't wait to have the movie on DVD to have as a reference for ideas..I'm glad I'm not the only one who notices this stuff.
If you want something bright, I think a mid aqua tone would be nice with the siding and roof. Or if you want it all to match go with a darker tone of gray.

If you want to keep your door red, you should paint the house a color by Sherwin Williams called Pussywillow (which is a light gray), with white trim, and a Antique Red for the door.
