I'll second the vote for a wacom. Give yourself a week (you'll have to unplug your mouse and really force yourself to get used to the tablet) and you'll never go back.
I've found that the only way to handle BF shopping is not to actually NEED anything. It's a lot easier to mentally handle the crowds if you can laugh at them instead of competing with them.
