Honestly, I would go with a splash of color on the floor. You don't have to go crazy, but maybe something with brightly, muted colors.

Yes they are from Ikea. I have not had any problems with them, they are comfortable and have lasted me quite a while.
The throw is from Marshalls and the paint is Benjamin Moore, metallic glaze, celestial. The other paint is Glidden and matched to the metallic glaze color.
