One of the most beautiful homes I've seen on this site. I like the subtlety of the paint backdrop, the furniture, the kitchen, the vignettes, and especially the art the children have made. This hou...
Got our first box Monday June 2. (We're in Queens.) Our half share contained red-leaf lettuce, arugula, kale, radishes, and turnips.
I would say it's already making us more creative in...
Wowza, can't argue with the building energy conservation engineer with a speciality in roofing!!! Love it!!!
However, if you were forced to cover the wood (SO SAD), a pressed tin ceil...
The little TV does distract from the big one, which I did not notice until I read about it in the comments. What is the make and model of the little one? (I'm curious and I could also do an eBay se...
West Elm has a smaller case (look under "storage) that will fit in your space. It's called the Rectangular Cutout Bookcase and costs $400. The URL is kinda long...
You could separate the living and office spaces with an inexpensive, modern, see-through bookcase. A friend of mine did this in a similar apartment in Harlem and it looks fantastic.
Normally I do not care for country or Colonial, but I am in awe of the expertise of this person. The paint, the arrangement of furniture, the unexpected contrasts -- it is very pleasing to the eye....
Agree with basic ideas of paint, decluttering, lamps. In addition:
All your furniture is on one wall. Can you perhaps put the desk on the far wall next to the door AND put in a single ...
The contrast works well. If the furniture matched the floors and cabinets, it would be overwhelmingly bland. What doesn't match is the white chairs at the counter. I would get rid of them. The plac...
This probably works much better in a photo than in real life. Especially because in real life, you are unlikely to have 10 foot ceilings, a fireplace, and elaborate moldings.

Cheap paint looks bad in any color. That's why rental beige and white is so awful. Bright and deep colors should be reserved for accent walls in a modern space.
