The old stove definitely had charm, but it found a great home with a friend who restores old victorian houses (and had the patience and resources to restore the stove to its former glory).
You did a fabulous job! Congrats! I never get tired of looking at it. Hard to believe it ever looked any other way.
When are you inviting me over for meatloaf? (I owe you an invitatio...
Nice mix of Modern and Mid-C without the overuse of iconic pieces (i.e. style recognition over name recognition). I think it's the unique and fun-colored vintage pieces that make the space feel fre...
Funny, seems to me the art world had declared "authenticity" as its own house pet of a trend just a few years back. HA! It's finally trickled down to design. **snigger**
Simple, Rustic, Charming.
Lovely to see your use of patina as shades of well-worn color and texture. Who needs forced "pops of color" when there's already a richness of color inherent in the...
A really comfortable and inviting space where white is made cozy with accents of dark wood, chrome, and hints of (ie. subtler, more sophisticated use of deep/bright) color. Especially like the cont...
You don't need to be a plumber to make this (I don't believe this would be connected to your water line, unless you want it to be. That would be a . . . . look, I suppose.) It's just like playing w...
I love the idea of mixing eras, but the introduction of new into old seems awkward and obvious here. Feels like two conversations trying to avoid each other.
Really like your latest choice and the spirit to try, try again.
Nice to see people working out design. Makes people (and AT site) more human somehow. Hooray.
Cut the girl some slack. She just planted her feet a little over a month ago. She still needs to put her own personal touches on the space. Nothing that can't be done in time.
The apt....

Shame that I drove by the other day and saw that they were closed and sawed a "this space is leased" sign on the window.

Surprisingly modest. Had imagined it to be more fun (like the Eames house) somehow.

I'm not crazy about the orange/purple house trim combo, but the Garden is very charming and inviting!!
Note sure if this was what you were thinking of...but it is a pre-made lamp with gold interior. Tom Dixon. . . . http://www.tomdixon.net/en...

If you can like Jonathon Adler, you can like Jenn Ski. They both make nice things, but they definitely have a derivative feel about them.

Love the menagerie. Cluttered but in a "Full of Life" way that is both inventive and fun. Great space.
For that size, I'd rather be outside, in the open air. Too claustrophobic, not to mention, an extra unnecessary cluttering device.
Simple elegance. Nice job.

Spunky, lived-in space! with lots of stuffs that feel thoughtfully and intuitively cultured rather than cluttered and over-designed. nice.
Thanks for posting this. Lovely in their humbleness. Great to see real spaces of creativity (not hatched from prescriptive design manuals).
