Rosebud, or anyone—have you had success with the faster Bittman bread? I tried the whole wheat recipe and it just didn't work...yeasty, dense, etc. Not sure why I failed.

I'm going to try the Fast No-Knead Whole Wheat bread...we'll see! I'm a little dubious, but it's worth a try...

Wine. Always helps, especially if something is a little too salty or too sweet. Sake works too.

My french host family FREQUENTLY ate leftover fruit tarts for breakfast. Totally acceptable, and delicious with morning coffee.
