Agree, get a huge cheap stockpot, and a good heavy enameled dutch oven. I have a six qt Lodge and find it a little small, but they do get heavy as they get bigger.
Made the olive oil pumpkin bread—this recipe is wildly delicious. I've always made a family recipe but this one is SO much better. Amazing texture. I did decrease the sugar a little though, j...
Our freezer gets SO full so fast. I always have nuts in there, and stock, and usually some frozen berries. Leftovers from many meals go in there—important to remember to eat them! We also kee...
I love baked apples. My mom used to also make a quick version in the microwave for after-school snacks. Stuffed with raisins, with a little orange juice poured on top before cooking.
The French Skillet did not appeal to me in the store. It seemed significantly thinner, which is sort of not the point of All-Clad. I would say, get the 12" fry pan. I'm not sure you need an 8" and ...
I've been surprised by the pricing on tomatoes at Union Sq—not too bad, considering. Manged to pick up a few pounds (at a DOLLAR a pound!) of sauce tomatoes this morning....good deal!
There are plenty of decent beers that are cheap, and there are even some light beers that are decent...(Beck's Light, for example, is great with food.)
But if it has to be bud light, i...
We just received the Forte Triton as a gift, and they are AWESOME. Seem sturdy enough (and one already survived a test-run through the dishwasher) but quite elegant and fun to drink from.
Why not just use a cast iron skillet of the same size? I bet it works great, but if you already have a seasoned cast iron pan, might as well use it for one more thing!

Beans! Cans of beans are a great source of quick protein. I actually like Whole Foods fat-free refried beans, too.

This is incredible.
Aren't they summer rolls if they're not fried? Or am I mistaken?
Never thought I'd say I was jealous of a kitchen that's in a studio apartment, but wow. Great storage solutions.

I've been wanting a Scanpan, but it may not be as non-toxic as it claims. I love my cast iron but do find that sometimes eggs stick.
Wow, yum! This is so creative!

Love the idea of the beet salad, but cannot, cannot have oven on for an hour right now.
